Is Lviv Tap Water Safe To Drink?
No, it's not advisable to drink the tap water.
Lviv’s tap water is treated and supplied under Ukrainian drinking-water standards, but its quality can vary because of aging pipelines and local infrastructure issues. It is generally considered suitable for drinking when the municipal supply is operating normally.
After service interruptions, flooding, repairs, or reports of contamination, drink bottled water or boil tap water for at least one minute. Cold tap water is preferable for drinking, and a certified filter can improve taste and reduce some impurities.

Source of Water in Lviv, Ukraine
Lviv’s tap water comes mainly from underground aquifers, drawn through wells at several water intakes outside the city. The supply is managed by Lvivvodokanal.
After extraction, the water is disinfected and tested before being pumped into Lviv’s distribution network. It then travels through the city’s water mains to homes and businesses.
Lviv Drinking Fountains
Public drinking fountains in Lviv are not uniformly safe to use. Drink only from fountains clearly marked as potable and maintained by the local water authority.
Unmarked or poorly maintained fountains may have contaminated water or unsanitary contact surfaces. Bottled or boiled tap water is the safer choice for drinking.
