Is Brno Tap Water Safe To Drink?
Yes! The tap water is safe to drink.
Tap water in Brno, South Moravian, is safe to drink. The municipal supply is treated and monitored under Czech and European Union drinking water standards.
Water is generally suitable for drinking straight from the tap without boiling. In older buildings, internal plumbing can affect taste or quality, so cold tap water is preferable for drinking and cooking.

Source of Water in Brno, Czechia
Brno’s tap water comes mainly from two sources: groundwater captured at BĹ™ezová nad Svitavou and surface water from the VĂr Reservoir. BĹ™ezová nad Svitavou supplies water from the Svitava River valley aquifer.
Water from the VĂr system is treated at the Ĺ vaĹ™ec water treatment plant before entering the regional network. The two sources are distributed through Brno’s water supply system and may be blended depending on operating conditions.
Brno Drinking Fountains
Public drinking fountains in Brno are safe to use when they are clearly marked as drinking water and appear operational and well maintained. The water is supplied under Czech drinking water standards and is routinely monitored.
Do not drink from fountains marked “not drinking water,” temporarily closed, damaged, or visibly dirty. Let the water run briefly before drinking, especially after the fountain has not been used for some time.
